Silver Oak University names an Inter-College Debate Trophy after a City Doctor*

A very fierce Debate Competition was held at the Silver Oak University among all its 22 Colleges. The final show down was among 18 participants from 11 Colleges. The Topic was “Is AI in Education – Boon or Bane?” This Trophy was named *‘Dr Mukesh Bavishi Trophy’* after a famous Gynecologist of Ahmedabad – Dr Mukesh Bavishi. The Debate Trophy was hosted jointly by *Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Majesty and the Silver Oak University*. Vice Chancellor Dr Saurin Shah, Dr Manthan Panchal and Gunvant Dholariya, President of Rotary Club were present during the well fought contest. The whole event was conducted by Dr Urja Pandya and judged by Prof Nilangi Patel, Dr Arpan Shah and Pradeep Tiwari. Mannil Shah of Silver Oak College of Technology was adjudged the Best Speaker and Ms Noopur Shah and Piyush Solanki received 2nd and 3rd Prize respectively. The Dr Mukesh Bavishi Trophy was won by Silver Oak College of Technology. Dr Mukesh Bavishi, Gynec Surgeon and Gynec Cancer Surgeon for 40 years addressed the Collegians of the Silver Oak University sharing his experiences in his Sainik School Balachadi and BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad. He was given the ‘Orator of the Year Trophy’ in 1980 at the hands of Dr Shriram Lagoo a Bollywood actor. He had also won two All India Inter University Competitions held at Nagpur and Mysore in his College days. Dr Mukesh Bavishi is known as the *‘Leonardo Da Vinci of Gujarat’* (લિયોનાર્દો દા વિન્ચી) for being a polymath, for his excellence in Medicine, Surgery, Public Speaking, Poetry Recitation, TV News Anchoring, Painting, Sculpting and being a Movie Actor.

There have been very few times in history that a doctor had excelled in many fields. Dr Mukesh Bavishi is one of those few. This is why he is known as ‘Leonardo Da Vinci’ of Gujarat! Besides being a gifted surgeon, a National Debator, he has shown excellence in poetry recitation, Hindi Urdu Literature, social media influencer, been a news-reader on Doordarshan, he has been a painter, a sculptor, a pottery artist, quiz master, a stand-up comedian, a cookery expert, an inventor and interestingly he has acted in a Gujarati movie…

Dr Mukesh Bavishi is a World class Gynec Surgeon, Fertility Specialist and Gynec Cancer Surgeon practicing in Ahmedabad for 36 years. He has invented 4 ‘stitchless surgeries’ one of which is named by him after his wife and is known as ‘Vidula’s Operation’. He has created 4 World Records including doing 50 Major Surgeries in 16 hours in a single day in a charity Camp. He has contributed immensely to the field of Fertility. Their new Technique has helped thousands of infertile couples with child in 1 to 3 months’ time. He has been given “Star of BJ medical College’ in 2007. He has won 5 International and 17 National Awards including the prestigious ‘American Medal of Honor’, ‘Sachin Tendulkar of Gynec Surgery’ and ‘Gujarat Ratna’ and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Healthcare Award 2025’ for Gynec Surgery, among others.

Like Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been given a title of Colonel by Indian Army, Dr Mukesh Bavishi has been awarded ‘Kentucky Colonel’ by the Governor of Kentucky state USA. This puts him in line with Lyndon Johnson, exPresident of USA, John Glenn, the first US Astronaut in Space, Whoopie Goldberg, the Hollywood actress, Tiger Woods, the legendary golfer and Mohammad Ali the famous Boxer, Col. Sanders, the founder of KFC, who all have received this Award.

He is considered to be the Best Gynecologist of current times. He has been given ‘Best Gynec Surgeon of India’ Award every year for the past ten years from 2013 to 2022.

His recent invention ‘Bavishi’s Operation’ to save lives and uterus of young women during child birth has been accepted Internationally recently which is a matter of great pride for our country.

Together Dr Mukesh and Dr Vidula have been doing Free Surgical Camps every year for 27 years, Free Pap Tests round the year for 18 years. In the whole month of May 2024 – they have done Free Medical Camp every day for Mammography, Sonography and Pap Test for women of Ahmedabad including women from Army Campus for more than 600 women.

They have been very popular for their Talk Show “What is New in Women’s Health?” – they have done over 350 such Talk Shows to women groups including to a gathering of 1.5 lac people at Karnavati Club during Morari Bapu’s Katha. Together, they have done research in a French study in 2008. He has inspired more than 30,000 young boys and girls by his impactful patriotic speeches in various Colleges.

He was invited to deliver a TedxTalk recently. He has delivered physical Talks in 5 Continents of the World – Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Australia, the last one being in Osaka, Japan in 2019.

Dr Mukesh Bavishi is a very popular speaker known for his humorous speeches. Two national Magazines have published his photo on their Cover Page. Articles on him have been published in India Today, Chitralekha, Abhiyan and all major newspapers. He has a passion for romantic poetry recitation, he has publicly recited poetry of Harivanshrai Bachchan and Javed Akhtar. He is now a Film Actor also. This year he will appear as a doctor in a Gujarati film called ‘Sanghavi & Sons’.

Having studied in one of the best Army Schools called Sainik School Balachadi, he wanted to join the Army, he could not join due to his eyesight. He became a doctor instead. Instead of doing surgical strike on country’s enemies, he does surgical strike on world’s enemies by performing excellent cancer surgeries and saving thousands of lives. They have done more than 18,000 surgeries on patients from 21 countries by now.

He is not a Teacher in traditional terms but he was given ‘Best Teacher in Healthcare’ Award on Teachers’ Day in 2023, after performing over 350 Talk Shows on Women’s Health in the past two decades.

His wife, *Dr Vidula Mukesh Bavishi* is a Gynecologist. She retired as a super Class 1 Officer, as Deputy Director, Health, Gujarat Government recently. Besides doing Gynecology, she has done Law – She won all 9 Gold Medals in Final LLB and then pursued LLM in Criminal law.

She was given the title of ‘Femina Woman of Substance in 2013. She has supported her husband in all his professional and social works. In 2022-23 she was the President of Rotary Club where she won 25 District Awards for her extraordinary community projects which is a record.
