Morari Bapu pays tributes, extends assistance to Sikkim flood victims

 

According to media reports, a sudden cloudburst and the release of water from Chungthang dam triggered flash foods in the Teesta River basin in Sikkim on Wednesday. The water level of the river rose by 15-20 feet. As many as 104 people, including 23 Indian army personnel, are missing in the incident. Bodies of 14 people have been recovered so far. Search operations are continuing and it is expected that the toll will rise further.

 

Noted spiritual leader and Ramcharit Manas exponent Morari Bapu has expressed his condolences to the victims of the devastating floods. He has dedicated a sum of Rs. 15,000 to the families of each of the deceased persons. The assistance will be delivered to the bereaved families by Ramkatha listeners with the aid of the local administration.

 

Morari Bapu has also offered prayers at the feet of Lord Hanuman for the salvation of the deceased persons and sent his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
