Toyota Mobility Foundation in Collaboration with WRIIndia to unveilstudy with key insights on Multi-Modal Mobility for Delhi

 

Delhi,  July, 2023–Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) in partnership with World Resources Institute India Ross (WRI India)is all set to unveil a key study on multimodal mobility through the Station Access and Mobility Program (STAMP). The paper, which presents key findings and recommendations based on extensive research in Nagpur, Delhi, and Bengaluru, was conducted by WRI India in collaboration with TMF.

As part of TMF’s mission to promote freedom of mobility for all, this collaboration with WRI India bringstogether Innovation, data-driven research insights, and comprehensive stakeholder engagement. This initiativeis also an aim to revolutionize multimodal mobilitywith the metro system as its core. Since its inception in 2016, the STAMP initiative has aimed to improve the accessibility of urban metro systems, a vital government investment to alleviate congestion in cities. TMF along with WRI India, through STAMP, began to resolve mobility challenges with evidence-based research, stakeholder capacity building, innovation by empowering those impacted by mobility challenges.

In its seven-year journey, the initiative has engaged with 63 enterprises and provided 15 innovative solutions in seven cities – Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur & Delhi – to address crucial issues such as last-mile connectivity, and other aspects of commuter centric interventions, such as trip planning and integrated payments.

To commemorate this progress, a comprehensive White Paper on STAMP program will be released during “Connect Karo 2023” event being organized by WRIon 17th July 2023in New Delhi. The event will showcase the findings, learnings and entrepreneurs solutions, gathered throughout the journey of STAMP program in India.

Recently, TMF, in partnership with Challenge Works and WRI also launched $9 Million Global City Challenge to Promote Drive Safe, Inclusive and Sustainable Innovation in City Mobility. The three-year Sustainable Cities Challenge to bring cities and innovators together including India to help cities reduce carbon, improve access, enhance data-driven concepts for more resilient transport systems. Three winning cities from across the world will work with innovators to tailor solutions to overcome their mobility barriers. Entries for the challenge are currently underway starting from 21stJune 2023 upto 18thSeptember 2023.
