Holi is one of the most important festivals for sindhis. On this auspicious day we fire Holika either at our home or neighbour’s home. We worship Lord Bhakt Pehladh for his loyalty towards Narayan and his fight against his own father. We fire Holika and worship God with flowers, bhajans and lastly we perform Pooja. There is a common ritual where we make a Koki which is basically made from wheat.,we tie a thread around it and cook it in the Holika fire. After a while Koki cooks perfectly and as we have a look at it, it’s quite surprising that the thread doesn’t get burnt in that fire. So over here the Koki is the Holika and the thread is Lord Bhakt Pehladh and as we can compare over here we find that Lord Bhakt survives just as thread and Holika dies just as Koki. Then we make a prasad of that cooked Koki and distribute to our neighbours. Lastly we perform a Parikrama around the fire and provide jal around the Holika to cool down the fire.
