Remembering Mahendra Kadia is a tribute show presented by Kadia family in the remembrance of celebrated artist Late Shri. Mahendra Kadia (1956 – 2019).
The show will begin on Saturday, 16th March, 2019 – 4:00 pm at Hutheesing Centre, Ahmedabad which will show case around 100 art works, selected from various significant time period of his inspiring artistic journey. The exhibition will remain open for public till 20th March, 2019 l 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm (Daily).
The artist friends of Late Shri. Mahendra Kadia will commemorate his art and life by live painting on the subject of ‘Birds’ on World Sparrow Day, 20th March, 2019 between 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Hutheesing Centre, Ahmedabad.
Mahendra Kadia, a veteran Indian artist who had four Decades of artistic explorations behind him. Kadia was a man whose artistic journey transcended form. In his works, art became sublime medium for self – actualisation, lending mesmerising expression to the human pursuit for liberation and tranquillity. This is most notable portrayed through the form of the ‘Bird’, a subject that he evolved over decades.
Mahendra Kadia was an influential soul, who played distinct roles throughout his life, not just as a great artist but also as an academician, educator, art promoter, administrator, curator and most extensively, an advisor. As an educator, Kadia delivered his valuable knowledge to more than three generations in many esteemed institutes such as Sheth C.N. college of Fine Arts, Khyati School of Design, Shree Vidhyanagar school, Amrut Firdaus School, S.G.V.P International School and Anand Niketan. Similarly, he delivered his expertise as an administrator in reputed art institutes like L & P Hutheesing Visual Art Centre, Amdavad ni Gufa, Kanoria Centre for Arts in Ahmedabad, India.
Mahendra Kadia also worked towards his vision to provide better facilities for young artists during his mentorship as an advisor and member of various art and cultural organizations running under Indian government such as National Lalit Kala Academy – New Delhi, West Zone Cultural Centre – Udaipur and several others.
Recently, in last few months, Kadia curated several Art Camps in Ahmedabad and also envisioned to create one of the first in its kind, a sculpture garden at Khyati School of Design.
Where eminent sculptors from across the globe will come together and display beautiful life size sculptures for art lovers of Ahmedabad.
Mahendra Kadia led foundation stone of creative artistic journey in his family. Because of his influential foot prints, now there are 10 artists in Kadia family, following and practising towards his dreams and vision.
